You should be able to remove the printer by right clicking and selecting delete and once the printer is removed you can try removing the driver as well. That's why DDU exists in the first place. Even so, this is the kind of confusing issue that can lead to big problems if part of a driver update actually goes wrong. I'll poke at it more on a separate testbed.
