Windows 10 still does contain System Restore, so you can re-enable it if you feel more comfortable with System Restore as a safety net. My final piece of advice regarding your situation Paul, is to consider doing a "Repair Installation" of Windows 7. Much better than wiping the drive and reinstalling Windows. You should be making images of your drive reguarly just for such a case.
