My computer started right away without any issue. I have swapped 2 RAM sticks over, and tried to start it with just each one in. We unpluged the tower button and now it is working perfectly. Disconnect all external devices.

I assume the new battery is good and it's not the problem. I believe that if you start the laptop without the video card attached to the motherboard, you will not get any video at all, even a basic one. This part is called "Power jack", "AC jack" or "DC-IN jack" and you can find it on eBay. Everything worked, and I backed up the past few days' work.
