If you start a different IE session using the -nomerge switch, session cookies will not be shared between the tabs of that session and any other sessions. It seems like I click on something, but my computer is too busy doing all those background tasks to respond! If you are able to open the IE8 window, you can also find the Internet Options under the Tools menu.
