Be sure that the OS is not corrupted by any means. Svchost.exe (netsvcs) High Memory wauaserv which is windows update service caused the problem, so i disabled the service. Click "Add Program" -> "Browse". 6. You could try turning off some of those services to see how much memory you'll save.

Humm. Sorry again, corrected myself. The rest are only taking up around 4,000. I went back into safe mode and went into msconfig where i unchecked most of the services.
After going crazy, this was rather easy. You save my time for installing windows 3rd time. You can also try this patch to repair the svchost.exe 100% high CPU and memory usage. I stopped and restarted the "wuauserv" service and the problem appears to be resolved.
