Streaming Video Crashes My Computer!
My System So, is it only crashing on those sites when you view in full screen? Just this morning I reformatted Vista again in an attempt to fix the issue, yet the problem still occurs. My computer still freezes if I try to run fullscreen in Firefox,Chrome,Explorer, but I guess there are stable versions of those browsers too. My laptop has been freezing on Ebay, Twitter, Facebook etc.. He can view video files (with VLC for example), but when streaming videos like on YouTube or Dailymotion... It would make sense because I've been downloading non-stop all day. Firefox, chrome or internet explorer? I also don't have any problem running long blu-ray quality movies downloaded to my computer for any length on time, with any video software; such as VLC or Windows Media Player. How long it will work I don't know, but it will do for now. I have left task manager open during these freezes and found that the cpu usage spikes to 100 on all cores while the memory stays the same. Recently, every video that I play online, in any sight , in any format (Flash or HTML5) , freezes after about 30 seconds. I now use the latest driver from the manufacturer site (tp-link in my case), and the problem is gone. I'm unable to move the mouse, ctrl/alt/delete, etc, and I'm forced to hard reset by holding the power button. Insure that fans are blowing and cables aren't obstructing air flow. I tried with Internet Explorer and it still froze. I don't need a separate graphics card for low-Q def streaming do I? I have of course tried removing/reinstalling Flash, Shockwave, and Silverlight multiple times with no effect. Reseating the GPU wouldn't hurt either.
